Subscription Information
Subscription Period – Annual (July-June)
Subscription period is from July 1 – June 30. Libraries may join the subscription at any time during the year; midyear subscriptions will be rounded up to the next whole month and whole dollar. Minimums and administrative fees are not waived or prorated for midyear subscribers.
Renewals
Approximately three (3) months before your subscription is due to expire you will receive a renewal notice
from BCR with instructions on how to renew your subscription. Renewal announcements are also posted
in BCReview.
Cancellations
Subscriptions may not be cancelled at any time other than during the renewal process.
An exception is made for government-funded libraries. Such libraries must notify BCR and OUP in writing of their desire to cancel the subscription within thirty (30) days after the beginning of their annual fiscal cycle. Government libraries may only cancel if their governing authority failed to provide funding in the new fiscal cycle. Contact BCR to obtain the address to which cancellation requests must be sent.
Payment
Payment/Invoice
Do not send payment with your order. You will be invoiced in the first two weeks of the month following the start of your subscription.
Purchase Orders (POs)
BCR does not require Purchase Orders. If your organization requires you to issue a Purchase Order, please make the PO to BCR, not the vendor partner. If you mail or fax a Purchase Order to BCR, please include information on the PO that BCR can use to match it to your Web order (e.g. school and district name, common and legal name of the library or university) and mark the PO "Confirmation Copy."
Credit Cards
BCR accepts credit cards. In order to make a payment with a credit card, select "Credit Card" in the payment section and complete the required information.
Pricing and Quotes
Pricing for this product is based on several factors including type of organization (academic, public, school, special, etc.), size of organization (FTE, population served, number of cardholders, number of employees, etc.) and amount of access purchased (number of users, unlimited). See the Order/Renewal Form for specific pricing details including minimums, administration fees and prorating (if applicable) and to calculate the price for your organization. A 5 percent late fee will be added to all renewals received after the end of the subscription term — after June 30.

Support Information
Authentication
IP Access
Access to this resource is controlled by IP number filtering. This type of authentication allows a user from any computer within the identified IP range (in your library, school, on your campus, in your organization) to access the database simply by going to the appropriate URL.
If you would like to learn more about IP numbers, read the IP Address FAQ.
Remote Access
Remote access is permitted at no additional cost if your institution has a secure server that verifies that the user is a valid patron, and then forwards the queries to OUP. This is termed Remote Patron Authentication (RPA). The server is validated by OUP's systems based either on a referring URL or the IP number of the server. Contact Customer Support (online@oup.com) for coordination of all referring URLs. OUP needs the URL where the link will be placed in order to create the link, and also needs to have the ability to test the link from OUP (i.e., the library needs to give OUP temporary access to the referring page).
Single user id/password for a library to distribute in a secure manner can also be provided.
Access
In order to access this product, you will need to direct your users to the following URL: http://www.oxforddnb.com.
You may place links to this URL on your library’s website, in bibliographic instruction materials, in learning management systems, etc. Access is limited to authenticated users.
